Ausgehend von der Annahme, dass der Mensch heute überall - und gleichzeitig irgendwo - einen Ort finden muss, an dem er zu Hause sein kann, wird in der Performance u m z i e h e n verschiedene Orte geschaffen. An diesen oftmals utopischen Orten erkundet und skizziert die Performance-Künstlerin Nathalie Fari alltägliche Situationen in einem faltbaren Objekt.
Ihre reduzierten Bewegungen bringen die sich ständig wandelnden Möglichkeiten und Begrenzungen dieser Orte hervor. Sobald jedoch eine räumliche Veränderung durch das Objekt geschieht, bezieht sich diese fortwährend auch auf ihren Körper. Dabei versucht sie unterwegs eine „Heimat“ aufzuspüren, indem sie am Ankommen vorübergeht.
So wird in der Performance u m z i e h e n das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen Außen und Innen, Ferne und Nähe, sowie zwischen Hier und Dort, sichtbar. Auf diese Weise bedingt nicht nur der Raum den Körper, sondern auch der Körper den Raum.

Starting from the assumption that humans everywhere need to find a place – anywhere – they can call home, performance artist Nathalie Fari and stage designer Michaela Muchina will be creating various locations in the collaborative work u m z i e h e n.
Fari will be exploring and outlining everyday situations in a foldable object in these often utopian locations. Her restricted movement will emphasise the ever-changing possibilities and limits of these locations. As soon as there is a change in the space trough the object, this has a permanent effect on her body. This means that she is trying to find a “home” en route, as it never actually arrives.
This tension between the outside and inside of the body, as well as the tension between the here and there, the distance and proximity will become visible in u m z i e h e n. This tension is how the space conditions the body, but also the body the space.
